I kind of like the challenge of trying to defend Zwan, but I can really only defend their live act since I have a fair bootleg collection, and although it's mostly poorly recorded, there's some great stuff they did but never released. Corgan's solo outing is, I think, simply easier to defend on a base level. It was clearly a new direction and there's some good ideas there. Zwan (at least on record) had some things going for it but seemed more limited or more just a poor man's extension of the Pumpkins. I'll be buying the album, most definitely, and I'll probably write a review up.Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17295562938792511228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666659962343175645.post-20355503631781661112007-06-12T20:14:00.000+02:002007-06-12T20:14:00.000+02:00should you give it a thumbs up, I might pick it up...should you give it a thumbs up, I might pick it up at the ol' five and dime.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666659962343175645.post-18228706149323139902007-06-12T20:13:00.000+02:002007-06-12T20:13:00.000+02:00I have not heard the live show or new album and pr...I have not heard the live show or new album and probably won't because i expect it to be an embarassing and gigantic train wreck. and by train wreck I'm talking of the "axl rose's exploitations with guns and roses" caliber here. still though, I believe you are a most trustworthy authority on music patrick, so keep me posted.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666659962343175645.post-9168318224058534622007-06-12T20:11:00.000+02:002007-06-12T20:11:00.000+02:00in my opinion, one of the few redeeming qualities ...in my opinion, one of the few redeeming qualities comes from paz's contribution as far as the dynamic of the band goes. still, what's really tragic is that she was captured by corgan and a perfect circle's 2nd album suffered in her absence. anyhoo, I am still pained that iha and d'arcy (or miss maur) won't be a part of the reunion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666659962343175645.post-53464662010521520672007-06-12T20:10:00.000+02:002007-06-12T20:10:00.000+02:00I think I could defend corgan's solo project way m...I think I could defend corgan's solo project way more than I could zwan. the overall direction and sensibilities behind thefutureembrace was alot more valid and interesting than zwan ever amounted to. I mean, what the hell was with the "just found god" overtones encompassing the album, not to mention corgan's weird facial hair phase?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666659962343175645.post-64968375904710376622007-06-11T07:34:00.000+02:002007-06-11T07:34:00.000+02:00Of course you can make suggestions! I was trying to break up paragraphs, but I'll go off on tangents and return to a theme and find myself in a long paragraph. But I'll keep that in mind. Boldfacing is also a good idea. I'm debating ratings. Thumbs aren't good enough for me. I'll think about a letter grading system, though. That might not be bad.

And of course, thanks for reading!Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17295562938792511228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666659962343175645.post-546305861461925842007-06-11T07:23:00.000+02:002007-06-11T07:23:00.000+02:00I always loved the Smashing Pumpkins, but of cours...I always loved the Smashing Pumpkins, but of course my exposure is mostly due to you, Shannon and Meredith all playing them or learning instruments to them.

If I could make a couple quick suggestions:
1) Break up the paragraphs a bit more, especially the really long ones. Your writing is pretty dense for a layman like me.
2) For the album reviews, if you don't intend to use bold for anything else, why not put each of the track listings in bold as you discuss them? It would help people scan directly to your comments on favorite songs or points of particular interest.
3) Any interest in a rating system with numbers, letters, thumbs, etc?

Good work so far.FilmWalrushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14822833888119348361noreply@blogger.com
